PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS GIN

Our pride and joy! 

Named after a famous Chris Rea song about those girls from Teesside, this is a dry gin, with a juniper berry, coriander and angelica root base, is enhanced with pink peppercorns, calamus root, rosehips and cassia bark. With pink grapefruit and limes adding a citrus kick.

What lifts this gin above others, is the PRICKLY PEAR CACTUS we infuse it with, giving it a unique fresh, watermelon aroma and taste. (Prickly pear cactus grow wild around the countryside where I have a home, just outside of Granada in Andalucia).

However, the addition of BUTTERFLY PEA PETALS makes it truly special, for when you add the mixer, the gin turns from a Stainsby blue colour to a lovely pink hue. 

TRULY A MAGIC GIN!

On a personal note, this gin was the first gin I launched with my distillery drinks business;
STEEL RIVER DRINKS. After I had come through a very dark period in my life, where at one point (just 18 months from launch) I had sank so low that I was living in my car.

This gin saved me. I thought at the time if I could just sell 200 bottles, I would be happy and it would go some way to me getting back on with my life.

We've now sold over 20,000 bottles.
